ABC staff organized a public rally in support of D+R host Stan Grant today, behind the ABC headquarters in Ultimo.
Staff also went out to Melbourne, Hobart and Canberra.
ABC staff and reporters sang “We stand with Stan” in sympathy for their colleague, which impressed ABC management in a column on Friday citing lack of support for social media abuse.
Chief Executive David Anderson yesterday apologized.
Guardian Australia‘s Natasha May said Grant’s family also thanked the crowd today for their support.

Huge achievement of ABC @withMEAA members standing with Stan Grant. The vile racism that has recently been hurled at him and other Indigenous staff members is not present #resistrestan #we reject racism pic.twitter.com/EHcPm5U9to
