But the US will follow the reality TV landscape by expanding its episodes of Survived AND The incredible ride to permanent episodes of 90 minutes.
The move appears to be a response to the current U.S. writers’ strike as CBS looks ahead to tackle its fall schedule with more Unscripted television. This could prove to have a long-term impact on US screenwriters if they find less scripted work being commissioned by networks.
However, according to Deadline, “CBS did it to bolster the night in a move reminiscent of NBC’s oversizing of its Thursday comedies nearly two decades ago. The venerable reality titles were the star attraction Wednesday, and both always had extra footage left on the cutting room floor, with deleted scenes scoring with fans.
There are three new scheduled programs announced by CBS, Elsbetha spin-off of The Good Fight / The Good Wife AND Matlock restarted with Kathy Bates in the lead. Australian broadcasters have yet to be announced.

Elsbeth
