The Block confirms 2023 teams

Season 19 of The block has now confirmed that its five teams to compete are:

Personal assistant Eliza (37) and integration producer Liberty Paschke (34) – sisters of VIC
Firefighter Kyle (36) and teaching assistant Leslie Cottone (34) – parents from WA
EMS Officer Leah (32) & Builder Ash Milton (38) – QLD parents
Project manager Kristy (34) and safety manager Brett Beams (34) – married by SA
Architect Steph (27) and start-up Gian Ottavio (27) – married from NSW

There are 5 refurbished 1950’s houses on Charming Street, Hampton East, Melbourne.

Scott Cam, returning for his 17th series, said: “This series is guaranteed to be a dead blockbuster. Our five new teams from across the country are all excited to do their home states proud. But wait till you see their shock when they find out they’re building not one, but two new abodes, as we’re throwing ourselves into a grandparents’ apartment for good measure. And in one To block Firstly, we are giving all teams their full build schedule upfront this year. Fasten your seatbelts, Australia. Block 2023 offers more twists, turns and curveballs than ever before.

Scott’s co-host Shelley Craft added: “The houses in this series may appear glamorous on the surface, but our competitors will be shocked when they discover a number of pitfalls not apparent at first glance. While there are plenty of laughs to be had, viewers can expect an equal number of tears.

Judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and Neale Whitaker are joined by real estate expert Marty Fox.

Executive producer Julian Cress, who created the show with fellow EP David Barbour, says the 20th birthday is a fantastic accomplishment.

“We thought we were pretty lucky to get the show on the air in the first year we made it,” he said

“I’m just receiving The block commissioned was a huge achievement and we never thought we’d still be here doing the show 20 years later.

“But the great thing is we all still love doing the show, and no two series of The Block are the same, as these five new teams will really prove this year!”

The series is expected in August on Nine.
