The traitors Australia was acquired by the BBC, where viewers couldn’t get enough of the mystery format.
The Rodger Corser-hosted series will screen on BBC Three at 8pm on Sunday 9 July and all 12 episodes will be available as a boxed set on the BBC iPlayer.
“For those who are new to The traitors, is a psychological reality game about tactics, betrayal, suspicion and manipulation. If Faithful’s competitors were to eliminate all the Traitorsthey will split the prize pool. If a traitor gets to the end, they steal the money,” says the BBC.
Nasfim Haque, Head of Content at BBC Three, says: “The traitors It’s a fiendishly addictive format and I’m so glad viewers can get their summer fix of betrayal and suspicion as we head to Australia for the Australian version of the show on BBC Three and iPlayer.
A review comparison of the UK, US and Australian versions described the Australian version as having “the weaker production values but the more charming game”.
A second season will screen in 10 later this year, starring Gyton Grantley, Hannah Ferrier, Ash Pollard and Luke Toki.
