Seven appointments of News Brisbane

Seven news Brisbane has appointed Dante Ceccon as assistant news director and Ally Cullen as 6pm line up producer.

The new director of 7NEWS Brisbane and Gold Coast, Michael Coombes, who began his role on Thursday, said: “I am thrilled to confirm these key appointments for two thoroughly deserving and hardworking members of our team.

“Dante brings a calm and steady head to the role, while Ally’s sense of news is second to none. They work very well together and will make a formidable team on the production bench.

Network Director of News and Public Affairs Craig McPherson said: “These appointments cement the future of 7NEWS in the very important Queensland market.

“After six years under Neil Warren, Michael Coombes’ rise is thoroughly deserved. He is more than ready for the ever-demanding role of leading a newsroom and inherits an extremely talented and driven team to which he has been instrumental.

“With Dante and Ally by his side and Max Futcher, Sharyn Ghidella, Shane Webcke and Tony Auden at the forefront of our product, we are in excellent shape to deliver the news Queensland deserves.”

Michael Coombes’ appointment in Brisbane follows Neil Warren becoming editor of the Sydney News.
