“It might have been the street demolished and rebuilt somewhere else.”

What would Neighbours have done if Pin Oak Court -aka Ramsay Street- was not available for the revival?

That’s a question I posed to exec producer Jason Herbison who credits Amazon with being open to the possibility that they may not have been able to secure the famed streetscape.

“They were very understanding and said, ‘Alright, well, what would you do if you don’t?’ he tells TV Tonight.

“Fortunately, we do have the street so I didn’t have to go down the track too much of what we would have done. It would have been a different return story. It possibly wouldn’t have involved the return of so many characters.

“I think it might have been perhaps one or two households moving to a new street. I don’t know. It might have been the street demolished and rebuilt somewhere else.

“All of those scenarios I was prepared to venture down. But I didn’t need to.

But look, I’m a storyteller. I think anything’s possible.

“If we had to move the street somewhere else that’s a great story to tell. I’m not sure what we would have told because we didn’t end up having to do that. But I would have embraced that as a great challenge.”
