Domestic violence charges against boxer Harry Garside have been dropped after audiotapes were provided to NSW Police.
Garside was met by NSW Police detectives last month when he returned home from South Africa after filming I’m a celebrity. Get me out of hereaccused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Ashley Ruscoe in March.
Outside the Sydney Downing Center local court this morning he told the press: “Today I was vindicated. A few moments ago the police prosecutor informed the court that he has dismissed all matters against me.
“This is because my lawyers provided the recordings and communications which gave the police a full understanding of what happened, clearing me of any wrongdoing.
“I am grateful for the diligence of the police in examining the overwhelming evidence in my favor and moving quickly to withdraw the proceedings.”
NSW Police also released a statement confirming that charges against Garside had been dropped after “new information was provided to detectives and police”. The AVO was also dropped.
