Guy Pearce is ready to return Neighborhoodfor “a little appearance or two,” he hinted.
Executive producer Jason Herbison told the Herald Sun“We are delighted Guy is returning to continue Mike and Jane’s reunion, he was a highlight of last year’s finale and (there is) certainly more story to tell for these much loved characters.”
Pearce also gave the Sydney Morning Herald about Mike and Jane’s (Annie Jones) fate with the soapie revival.
“I was kind of blown away by that,” he said.
“Annie and I called each other (and said) ‘What do we do now, because we live on the street.’ And she said, ‘Well, I’m fine because I’m on the show anyway, but what are you going to do?’
“I said, ‘I don’t know.’ So we’re in the process of fixing that.
The move shows tremendous generosity on his part to tackle the storyline and for Mike to, it seems, neatly walk out of the way.
“Obviously, if I’m going to extricate myself from the show, I want to do it with respect,” she continued. “I wasn’t just going to say, ‘well, bad luck. You had your chance, here. So there might be a couple of appearances, shall we say.
“It’s the gift that keeps on giving, as they say,” she added,
“It’s all right,” he added. “I’m happy to be there.”
