Former Away from home Child actor Felix Dean, who played VJ Patterson from 2007 to 2014, appeared before Sydney’s Downing City Center District Court on Monday following a “botched car theft”.
According to court documents Dean, now 26, allegedly attempted to steal the keys to an Audi A5 from a stranger in Botany on May 28.
The court heard he pleaded guilty to assaulting the man with intent to rob him, but pleaded not guilty to three counts of common assault related to a separate incident.
Appeared via video link from a holding cell.
But her lawyer Lauren MacDougall said she would apply to have the charges dismissed under the Mental Health Act.
Dean played VJ Patterson, the son of Vinnie (Ryan Kwanten) and Leah Patterson (Ada Nicodemou) from the age of 10, in 831 episodes from 2007 to 2014 before the role was taken by another actor from 2014 to 2018.
He made other appearances in Comedy Inc, All Saints AND Jessica.
He will be back in court on 9/11.
