Emmy Awards 2023: nominees

Nominees were announced overnight for the Emmy Awards 2023.

Succession leads the way with 27 nominations overall, including Best Drama and Aussie Sarah Snook in the Best Actress category.

It competes with The Last of Us, Andor, Better Call Saul, The Crown, The White Lotus, House of the Dragon AND Yellow Jackets for best drama.

In the best comedy, Ted Lasso, Barry, Only Murders in the Building, Abbott Elementary AND The wonderful Mrs. Maisel they came back united by Wednesday, The Bear AND Jury duty.

To be eligible for this year’s awards, TV shows had to air between June 1, 2022 and May 31, 2023, and this can include a minimum number or all episodes.

The 75th Annual Emmys are currently airing from the Peacock Theater (formerly Microsoft Theater) on Monday, September 18 (US) with the Creative Arts Ceremonies set for September 9 and 10 (US). But the writers’ strike and an impending SAG-AFTRA could be putting it off until January.
