Screen NSW are seeking expressions of interest from First Nations screening professionals for a new development opportunity through its First Nations Screen Scholarship.
The First Nations Screen Fellowship will provide $25,000 in financial support to a recipient to undertake a self-directed career development plan, which may include new job development, research and travel, mentoring or industry exposure.
Screen NSW welcomes applications for Expressions of Interest from mid-career to established screen professionals who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and live in NSW.
Screen NSW chief Kyas Hepworth said: “There is considerable untapped First Nations talent in the NSW film industry. This exciting new scholarship aims to unearth this talent and open the door for the recipient to pursue the career development direction of their choice.
“Screen NSW is dedicated to increasing First Nations representation in the creative industries and ensuring the legacy of storytelling continues on screen. This targeted support for NSW First Nations screening professionals is a signal of our continued engagement in this space.”
Proposals will be accepted between 11 May and 30 June 2023.
