Australian Idol has chosen its Top 30 artists who will compete in their quest for 2024 glory.
Last night night Marcia Hines, Kyle Sandilands and Amy Shark even offered 24-year-old Karratha singer TJ Zimba a fast-track into the Top 30. performance leaving judges ready to throw out the rule book.
The Zimbabwe born hip-hop artist skipped the final deliberation round after his performance of Khalid’s Location.
“I’m most excited to show people why I do music, the reason I got into music and how I actually perform and portray that as an artist,” he said.
Marcia Hines also said of 23 year old Imogen Spendlove, “I think we’re looking at the next Australian Idol.”
From Sunday night the Top 30 will take to the stage to be whittled down to 21 before a Top 12 take to Performance shows later this month.
