A Gladiators reboot will be filming in Sydney in the coming weeks, produced by Warner Bros. TV Australia.
The production will run from July/August to October.
The original campy aired for 3 seasons from 1995 to 1996 on Seven hosted by Kimberley Joseph, Mike Hammond and Aaron Pedersen.
A short-lived 2008 reboot hosted by Tom Williams and Zoe Naylor included Tatiana Grigorieva, Tiffiny Hall and Anthony Koutoufides. Embarrassingly for the family-friendly show, one of the contestants had appeared on a gay porn site (oops) during its run. The reboot launched to an impressive 1.84 million viewers, but dropped to 1.1 million.
The BBC has also relaunched the format for 2023 (pictured) to be hosted by Bradley Walsh and son Barney.
