As many Reality TV talents quickly discover, getting an invitation to the Logie Awards that’s never a sure thing, and this year the venue at The Star is smaller than the Gold Coast and Melbourne events.
That means even tougher choices for networks trying to land talent, executives, and producers a spot. Priority is those who get nominated, then those on the air (and those who arrive hoping for a red carpet push).
Sadly, even the best talent can get lost.
“Two Logical ago, I was nominated for gold – I wasn’t invited this year,” Amanda Keller told WSFM today.
“Wait a minute… You’re not even invited?” asked Brendan “Jonesy” Jones.
“I didn’t expect to be nominated, but I wasn’t invited,” admitted Keller.
“It’s a difficult night, isn’t it? You have to wear Spanx, and all the accessories for the clothes and everything, and everything… So I’m going to do what I usually do, which is watch it on TV and probably go to bed around 9:30. “
By 9:30am Keller will miss out on the gold award, which this year will close the live voting at 10:30pm AEST.
He also passed a comment The livingroom “rested” by 10 in 2022.
“I think there will be other years where I will be in something and (invited). But in spite of Channel 10 having ‘put the show to rest’ – I think it’s a bit of a death knell,” he said.
“TV is not the be-all and end-all of my life, my career. People keep going live after the TV shows are over.
Keller’s remark on logie tix is probably a good indicator to other talent and industry… if you don’t have an invite by now, you probably won’t get in…. plus buying a seat in a public gallery for around $100.
