AFL chief reporter leaves Seven

Seven’s chief football reporter Tom Browne has resigned after 12 years with the network.

THE The Herald Sun reports it is taking up a media and communications role with MA Financial Group and is relocating the family to Sydney.

Browne, who also works for Triple M, told some of the biggest stories AFLincluding last week’s story about Luke Beveridge breaking his hand and the firing of Gold Coast head coach Stuart Dew.

It will end in 2023 AFL season with Seven, including the Finals series, before moving.

Age speculates Mitch Cleary is likely to be in the running for best news reporting job, having joined the Seven Network in late 2021 after three years as a news reporter with AFL Media.
