2024 Upfronts: What can we expect from Nine?

2024 Upfronts: What can we expect from Nine?

Nine will present its 2024 Upfronts to media buyers and press tomorrow afternoon at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney.

The 2024 Paris Olympics are expected to take centrestage with Nine enjoying broadcast rights for the July Summer Games and August Paralympics.

2024 also marks the 20th season of The Block still a ratings juggernaut for the network.

There have been whispers for some time of a Daylesford site, a favourite weekender destination north west of Melbourne.

This fenced corner (opposite a Mitre 10 no less) is heavily rumoured to be the location, with construction expected to take place from the ground up. Biggest Block ever?

Executive Producer Julian Cress recently told TV Tonight, a 2024 site had been secured well in advance of the 2023 season debut.

“The beauty of this show -I guess it’s not wonderful if you’re a programmer, but it’s great if you’re a producer- is that they have to commit to the series for next year before this one goes to air. So we always know that we’re at least gonna make one more,” he said.

Married at First Sight has been filming, reportedly to include its second same-sex couple, while hits like Lego Masters and new shows Your Mum My Dad, Big Miracles will return.

Nine is yet to screen its new drama Human Error, along with a handful of previously-announced titles, and will doubtless have new drama projects to unveil for 2024.

The game show genre gets a shake-up with Hot Seat ending and the impending arrival of (worst rumour in the biz) Tipping Point with Todd Woodbridge. There are also UK specials of Jeopardy with host Stephen Fry and Aussie expats.

After the event Nine will welcome guests to an after-party, possibly to take on a Parisian theme? Oui!

TVT will be live tweeting announcements after 4:30pm AEST with full details published at the end of the event.
